Coca-Cola, BellSouth to sponsor ‘Atlanta Pride’ festival

“Coca-Cola and Bell South will help advance a lifestyle that continually leads to death, disease, and personal anguish.” - Randy Sharp, American Family Association

Two major American corporations are marking their place in the arena of the gender confused next month. The American Family Association (AFA) says that by providing sponsorship dollars to the Atlanta Pride festival in June, Coca-Cola and Bell South will encourage possibly hundreds of young people to make decisions which will ultimately ruin their lives.

Randy Sharp, AFA director of special projects says, “Coca-Cola and BellSouth will help advance a lifestyle that continually leads to death, disease, and personal anguish. Self-destruction comes from making poor choices in life. This is the life of homosexuality.”

He says research should convince companies to tend to selling their product, not promoting harmful lifestyles and activities. “Oxford University’s International Journal of Epidemiology reports life expectancy at age 20 years for gay and bisexual men is 8 to 20 years less than for all men.”

The American Medical Association report states “people with same-sex sexual behavior are at greater risk for psychiatric disorders” – including major depression and substance abuse.

The Medical Institute of Sexual Health reports: “Homosexual men are at significantly increased risk of HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, anal cancer, gonorrhea and gastrointestinal infections as a result of their sexual practices. Women who have sex with women are at significantly increased risk of bacterial vaginosis, breast cancer and ovarian cancer than are heterosexual women."

“I don’t think Coca-Cola and BellSouth would give a moment’s thought to sponsoring a chain-smokers or binge drinkers festival, because they understand the unhealthy and dangerous results” says Sharp. “Homosexual activities lead down the same lethal road.”

AFA says Coca-Cola and BellSouth should seriously reconsider the longtime implications of their actions.

Dear (name),

I am disappointed to learn that your company carelessly disregards the dangers that deprive people of long and healthy lives. Every day, hundreds of people die as the result of choosing unhealthy lifestyles. Yet, your company chooses to celebrate homosexuality by sponsoring the Atlanta Pride Festival.

I encourage you to strongly reconsider the long term implications of your support for this and other similar events.

Sincerely,
(your name)
(town)
